Who was the King? |
Who did the King rent land out to? |
The King during the Feudal System was the one who received the most loyalty and protection. He was the one many had to answer to. He lived the greatest life out of all of those in the hierarchy because people were led to believe that he was put there by God, so even if whoever was in power wasn't democratically minded, nobody questioned it. However there were many accounts where people or Kings tried to overthrow the Church.
|
The King rented his land out to only those whom he could trust, these people would have to swear to an oath. They were considered very highly too. These people were called Barons. Barons were fortunate enough to have entire control over their land at all times, provided that they stayed faithful to t he King. Barons were rich, powerful and ranked very highly in society.
